Yamaha Sales Boom: RayZR Dominates as R15 and MT15 Record Strong Demand

• Yamaha Motor India has started the second half of 2026 on a strong note, with its two-wheeler sales showing a sharp year-on-year improvement in July. The company recorded 72,579 units in domestic sales in July 2026, compared with 50,365 units during the same month last year. This translates into an impressive 44.11% year-on-year growth.

• This means RayZR sales increased by 44.69% year-on-year, with 7,339 additional units sold compared with the same month last year. The scooter alone contributed around 32.74% of Yamaha’s total domestic sales in July.
• RayZR also improved its monthly performance. Sales increased from 22,782 units in June to 23,760 units in July, giving the scooter a 4.29% month-on-month rise.

• The R15 and MT-15 together accounted for nearly 29% of Yamaha’s total domestic sales in July.
• The MT-15 has become an important model for Yamaha because it combines a streetfighter-inspired design with a sporty riding character. Its popularity among younger buyers has helped Yamaha maintain a strong presence in the premium 150cc motorcycle segment.

Fascino Also Posts Strong Growth

• The scooter recorded 8,185 units in July 2026, compared with 5,450 units during July 2025. This represents a substantial 50.18% year-on-year increase.
• However, Fascino sales declined by 6.88% compared with June, when the company sold 8,790 units. Even with the monthly decline, the strong yearly growth shows that the model continues to attract buyers in the competitive 125cc scooter market.

Aerox Records an Extraordinary Rise

• One of the biggest percentage gains in Yamaha’s July sales report came from the Aerox. The premium scooter recorded 4,544 units, compared with 2,239 units in July 2025.
• That is a remarkable 102.95% year-on-year increase. Even more impressive was its month-on-month performance. Aerox sales increased from just 1,455 units in June to 4,544 units in July, representing a 212.30% rise.
• According to the July sales data, this was the highest monthly sales figure recorded by the Aerox so far.
• Although its overall volume remains smaller than RayZR or the 150cc motorcycles, the Aerox’s growth indicates that Yamaha is gaining momentum in the premium scooter space.

XSR Adds More Volume to Yamaha’s Lineup

• Yamaha’s newer XSR also contributed positively during July. The model recorded 5,032 units, up from 4,199 units in June.
• This represents a month-on-month increase of almost 20%. The XSR now accounts for nearly 7% of Yamaha’s July domestic sales, giving the company another model capable of attracting customers looking for a distinctive motorcycle.
• Meanwhile, the FZ remained a significant volume contributor with 9,912 units. However, its sales declined 10.78% year-on-year from 11,110 units in July 2025.
